Woweeeeeee! What a gorgeous day!!

You find me full of the joys of spring today! I had a really nice dinner last night courtesy of LawNet at the Nutfield Priory. This followed a really useful meeting, at which I met some really nice people. It's great to catch up with other firms and be able to openly discuss progress and strategies and compare how we're all getting on - well done LawNet! ...very nice pheasant, beef fillet and blueberry and mascarpone tart too!

...but after such a gorgeous meal, of course I had to work it off... So, today I have had a great cycle in!

Things I saw today:

1. A buzzard circling - at least it wasn't a vulture...
2. Lots of sweet little lambs bouncing around
3. The nearside panel of a speeding mercedes from about 30cm - a little too close for comfort. However, I'm thankful I nearly got sideswipped today as, if I hadn't been, I would still be unaware that's it's actually very easy to flings my arms in the air at speed, make rude gestures and not so politely shout my thoughts to the driver. Let's be honest, the fact that I can actually speak shows I'm getting fitter...

My music today was a little weird if I'm honest. The iTunes God which kindly shuffled my (rather vast and eclectic) selection dealt me a crappy hand, but which, in fairness, got way better as the ride went on. He/she clearly decided that I could do with lots of 80s and 90s hits. Well, ok 70s too... Here is my playlist:

1 Like a Virgin - Madonna (not bad, although no leg warmers today)
2 Little Lies - Fleetwood Mac (weird!)
3 Regret - New Order (not bad I guess)
4 Punk Rock Classic - Chillies (perfect for the first hill on Saddlescombe Road)
5 Godless - Dandy Warhols (cool)
6 Half Forgotten Daydreams - John Cameron (wtf?! it's like 60s make out music...!) check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3gTAIjPZPQ
7 Suddenly I see - KT Tunstall (hmm ok)
8 Reptiles - Them Crooked Vultures (perfect)
9 Good Times Bad Times - Led Zeppelin (perfect)
10 But I feel Good - Groove Armada (perfect)
11 Get it on - Marc Bolan & T Rex (perfect)

What do you think? By the way, thanks to all thse who have suggested music - the latest being Fiona. I will start downloading what I don't have and let you all know whether your taste in music is awesome or pants.

Have a lovely day!

Playlist Monday 4 April 2011

What a gorgeous morning! Not that it started off that promisingly... I woke up late and have lost half my cycling gear (by which I mean lycra) and it wasn't until I got into wiork this moirniong that I rememberd that it's all nicely tidied away in my Jeep. Nevermind, I donned my emergency set of lycra (break glass only in the event of emergency etc) and had a truly lovely cycle in over Devil's Dyke this morning.

Thank you very much to all those of you who suggested music for my iPod. It's still on shuffle, by my playlist this morning was:

Cornershop - Brimful of Asha
Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc
Air - Ce Matin-La
Coldplay - Speed of Sound
Coldplay - Yellow
Keane - Is it any Wonder
Chris Cornell - Steel Rain
Frank Zappa - Status Back Baby
B-52s - Love Shack

Sorry Helen - no Rage against the Machine - possibly on the way home though! So anyway, I'm not sure I would have picked those particular tracks before I set out, but the more mellow ones seemed to play on the flat as I speeded past the little lambs and the loud sing-along ones....when i was out of tune and puffing in traffic jams... Good fun though.

Feeling good this morning too. Last week was a bit of a write off in the end. I cycled in on Monday, but Wednesday was too foggy (life insurance not in place yet) and on Friday I dropped my gorgeous little daughter off and watched her assembly, so had to drive in or look decidedly dodgy in a Primary School and then arrive late for work. The good newsis that I think the rest has done me the power of good. I feel restored and full of beans. I think maybe I'd been pushing a bit hard in the previous couple of weeks. So maybe a rest wasn't a bad thing.

Michael and I are delighted to be over the £1,000 mark, and thanks to Uncle Derek for the latest sponsorship! Am idly considering hitting the accountants of Brighton & Hove this week. ...with a mailshot, obviously, mind you, if I'm on my bike I'll be able to outrun them...(so long as I  can clip my shoes into my pedals quickly - I haven't mastered that without looking like a dork)

Fingers crossed also for some photos this week!! Any requests for poses etc?!
